Advanced In-Office Treatments

Tired of using artificial tears that hardly make any impact on your dry eye troubles? The problem might be deeper than you think. Take a look at our in-office dry eye treatments and speak with us to determine which long-term relief procedure is right for you.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Lumenis Optilight

Each of your eyes has multiple glands known as meibomian glands that help produce quality tears that stick to the surface of your eye when you blink. When these glands get obstructed (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, or MGD), tears are no longer created with the necessary oils to hydrate your eyes, leading to itchy and uncomfortable symptoms. It’s estimated that 86% Of Dry Eye Disease Cases Are The Product Of MGD.

Rather than rely on artificial tears that may or may not give temporary relief, defeat your dry eyes at the source! Our practice’s IPL treatment targets the root cause of dry eye disease by clearing out blockages in the meibomian glands via pulses of broad-spectrum light. Your long-term dry eye solution is finally here, thanks to the Lumenis Optilight.

Radiofrequency (RF) - Lumenis Optiplus

Similarly to IPL treatment, radiofrequency therapy with the Lumenis Optiplus is an effective and safe way to unclog the meibomian glands and simultaneously reduce eye inflammation that could be contributing to your dry eye symptoms. RF treatment stimulates the production of collagen beneath the skin as a handheld device gently massages the areas around your eyes.

The Lumenis Optiplus generates tiny electric currents that painlessly heat the layers under your skin. Meanwhile, all you feel is a relaxing, warm sensation.

When the meibomian glands in your eyes aren’t manufacturing the right oils for your tear film, your tears will evaporate too quickly for your eyes to properly utilize—in other words, they won’t stick around long enough to provide eye comfort. This causes your eyes to rev up all the dry eye symptoms we’re used to feeling: redness, itchiness, and irritation.

Our practice’s iLux treatment melts blockage in the meibomian glands that could cause the poor tear quality your eyes are experiencing every day. Unlike IPL treatment, the portable iLux device massages and heats your meibomian glands to encourage their oils to flow freely once again. Dry eye relief has never felt so good!

Zest Blepharoexfoliation (Zocular Products)

We all know the value of routinely brushing our teeth, washing our hands, and cleaning our hair. But have you ever thought about hygiene for your eyelids, too?

Your eyelids and lashes do more work than you might realize. Not only do they keep the surface of your eyes hydrated with every blink, but they also catch any dirt, dust, or debris that floats around in an effort to protect your eyes. These particles can sometimes build up on your lids and lashes, leading to a burning and gritty sensation if they overflow into your eyes.

Unclean lashes are also prime real estate for Demodex Mites to take up residence. These microscopic bugs live in hair follicles and can block the oil glands in your eyes, bringing about dry eye symptoms in the process.

Our in-office ZEST (Zocular Eyelid System Treatment) seeks to fill in the eyelid hygiene gap in your life.

The Zocular cleaning solution acts like a shampoo for your eyelids and lashes. Its formula is specifically designed to eradicate Demodex Mites and wash away any particulates that may have built up on your lid margin. The result is a med-spa experience that leaves your lids and lashes feeling fresh, clean, and healthy. ZEST is ideal for treating both dry eye syndrome and blepharitis.
